Primarily of use to story-tellers and picture takers who want to control which direction a Sim is facing or where they are looking.
There are three main areas to the menu
- Counterpart - create or manipulate another SimTurner linked to this one
- Turn - turn the active Sim to face a direction
- Look At - make the active Sim look at something/someone
The Counterpart... menu has the following sub-items
- Spawn - create another SimTurner and link the two together
- Find - move the camera to show the linked SimTurner, if it is hidden, show it
- Hide - make the linked SimTurner invisible
- Show - make the linked SimTurner visible
The Turn... menu has the following sub-items, all of which are self-explanatory
- Towards Camera
- Towards SimTurner
- Away From SimTurner
- Towards Counterpart
- Away From Counterpart
- Direction...; N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W or NW
- Left/Right...; 45, 90, 135 degrees
- Around (180 degrees)
The Look At... menu has the following sub-items, most of which should be self-explanatory
- Camera
- SimTurner
- Counterpart
- Sim...; any other Sim on the lot
- Sim (with reaction)...; any other Sim on the lot
The difference between "Sim..." and "Sim (with reaction)..." is for the former the active Sim's facial expression will not change while for the latter they will react depending on their relationship score with the target Sim - anger, frown, interested or smile.
With one SimTurner, it is easy to turn a Sim to face a specific direction and look at another Sim. By placing a counterpart SimTurner (with "moveobjects on" as necessary) and then hiding it, it is possible to make a Sim look just about anywhere.
Please remember that Sim's are (usually) not contortionists! Placing a SimTurner directly behind them on the ground and then directing them to look at it will NOT work!
