University After Birthday Party

After blowing out the candles on their birthday cake, teen Sims are given the option of going straight to university.

If they are hosting a birthday party, the party is also ended.

Like using the phone to move out to university, make sure the teen Sim has applied for scholarships beforehand!

Conflicts

This global mod changes the 0x101B "AGE++" and 0x1039 "Sub - Blow Out - Exit True" BHAVs in the four standard birthday cake objects (group)

  • "Birthday Cake" (0x7F6A0484)
  • "PartyBirthday Cake - Lime" (0x7F9486E5)
  • "PartyBirthday Cake - Butter" (0x7FCDB693)
  • "PartyBirthday Cake - Purple" (0x7FF4D212)

It also adds four BHAVs in the range 0x2040 to 0x2043 and changes the two STR#s 0x0100 "semi attrs" and 0x012D "dialog strings" in the "Cake_Globals" (0x7FD0A90D) group, so will conflict with any mod that does the same.

This mod does NOT conflict with Jasana_BugBreeder celebration cakes but neither does it support them, howevere see Notes below.

KNOWN to conflict with LimeyYoshi's Flammable Birthday Cake!, you will need the patch and to follow the instructions on their download page.

Notes

Assuming custom content birthday cakes (including Jasana_BugBreeder's linked above) have been made by lazily cloning one of the base Maxis cakes, it is relatively straightforward to adapt them to support this mod.

  • Download the UniAfterBdayParty_CC_Patch.zip file and unzip it somewhere
  • Open the custom cake's .package file with SimPe
  • Delete the 0x101B "AGE++" BHAV
  • Delete the 0x1039 "Sub - Blow Out - Exit True"
  • Right-click the Resource List and select "Add..."
  • Change the drop-down just above the Open/Cancel buttons to "Extracted Package (package.xml)"
  • Navigate to where you unzipped the UniAfterBdayParty_CC_Patch.zip file and select the package.xml file and click the Open button
  • Save the .package file, and exit SimPe
  • Test the cake in game.
