Summer
23 - Bikini B
Deano found EssGee, lying on her front on a towel, in the dunes, watching a family playing volleyball.
"Nice towel."
"Hmmmm ... I found it."
"Nice windbreak."
"Hmmmmm ...", she was clearly thinking about something else, "Yeah, it's amazing what gets abandoned up here."
"Nice bikini b..."
"Do you think she's the same size as me?", butted in Sophia-Grace.
Deano, who had been admiring EssGee's tanned long legs, foolishly said, "Who?"
"Her", she said pointing towards the eldest teenaged daughter.
Deano looked where she was pointing, "Ummm ..."
"Don't stare too long", Sophia-Grace said, with a hint of daggers.
"Ummmm ...", Deano stuttered. He looked back at EssGee's tanned, bare body. She was more curvy than he remembered, but that one night of passion seemed an eternity ago.
"Ummmm ...", but he liked the curves he was seeing, he liked them a lot.
"Don't take too long", the daggers transformed into hatchets.
"Ummmm ... probably", he said, instantly knowing it was wrong answer. "But you have a nicer figure", he added quickly.
"Awwww", she said, twisting to look up at him, "that's a good start".
Deano quickly stared out to sea. "Ummmm ..."
"Oh! My! God!", she exclaimed, "What are you wearing?"
"Beach shorts", he replied, still staring out to sea, "Why?"
"Where did you find them?"
"I bought ..."
"You paid for those?"
"They were on clearance. Only $2 ..."
"They clearly saw you coming!", she laughed.
"It's not polite to ignore someone when you're talking to them", Sophia-Grace added, pointedly.
Deano forced himself to meet her gaze.
"Did you want something?", she added.
"I_also_bought_costumes_for_Ona_and_Lottie_and_we're_going_swimming_and_wondered_if_you_wanted_to_join_us?", stuttered Deano, tripping over every word in his haste to get them out.
"No thanks", Sophia-Grace replied, slightly taken aback, "I'll ...", but Deano had left.
Turning to resume her vigil of the volleyball players, Sophia-Grace noticed the bikini top lying on the towel. Chuckling to herself and noting that she was more than a B cup, she muttered "Oh poor boy!"
Deano heard Sophia-Grace singing before he saw her, coming through the dunes back to the bus. She was wearing a stunning sun-dress and beautiful beach sandals, a stylish straw sunhat adorned her long locks, with a large beach bag under one arm and the windbreak over her other shoulder.
"Close your mouth", she said gaily, passing him. Calling back, she added, "And I think we should find another beach for tomorrow."
